Jul 22, 2014 6:38 PM in response to Apple4Ever556by babowa,Hi Byron,
just got back...... so your report looks good - MadMacs already addressed the two things you should look at.
So, have you gotten your iTunes stuff back already or not?

I found the iPhone app and visited the web site, but didn't notice anything about the OS X AppStore and didn't bother to check there. Thanks, I'll check it out.

Not sure what to tell you about this one, except that you can trust the version from 1Password.com just as much as the one from the AppStore and the latest version has a few security enhancements.
Apple takes there time with updates unless there is some sort of emergency and not all developers submit updates in a timely manner, so there is no good answer to this. I help the developer of ClamXav out and know he's frustrated with the process. Sometimes they bounce it back to him for a stated reason, but often it just sits there for weeks with no feedback. As an example, his v2.6.4 version was submitted to Apple a couple of days before the web version was made available to the rest of us and after five weeks now, it still isn't posted.

Jul 22, 2014 7:51 PM in response to Apple4Ever556by babowa,Okay about the iTunes stuff.......
Now, we gotta have a talk! You just finished erasing, reinstalling, and getting your imac cleaned up and you want to start installing stuff already!?!? Seriously: I don't know - why don't you google it - hold it, I just found one at the app store:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/emoji-emoticons/id454962084?mt=12
Please remember Byron: do not download anything at all from softonic or cnet, okay? Their stuff quite often has stuff included you don't want and that will mess up your computer.

Jul 23, 2014 2:56 PM in response to Apple4Ever556by babowa,You might want to check and search in the forums here about Google Chrome, it sometimes isn't too good on a Mac. Have you tried Firefox? I like it and it works everywhere I go (except one place: my electric company, I have to pay my bills with Safari there).
-
Jul 23, 2014 3:27 PM in response to Apple4Ever556by MadMacs0,babowa is correct that some users have had issues with it, but I've have been using it ever since it came out and have never seen any of the problems they have. I have Firefox, as well as Opera and a few others that I occasionally need for a specific web site. Any of them would be fine.
A couple of things about Chrome are that it contains it's own, slightly safer version of Flash Player if you have need of it. They update it fairly quickly as long as you don't disable Google's automatic update process. Some users object to self-updates, but I find have found it quite convenient.

I would ignore both of those. They are both components of OS X and not any AppStore apps. Perhaps you have notifications disabled which is why the first one isn't loading. The second is part of Wireless Diagnostics support and probably only loads when you need that type of support. I often see it as failed in listings. I would ignore both of them.

I have the Volume Usage, Directory Backup and SMART Check TechTool Pro functions enabled and never notice them. The Trash History will actually save a copy of everything you empty from the TrashCan, so can quickly fill up your hard drive if you add and delete files a lot. I probably would have them all disabled if I wasn't a beta tester for MicroMat.
