Q: How do I get a keyboard to sync to my ipad, if it has been synced to a different ipad previously?

My keyboard for my ipad has been synced to a different ipad at one time. Now the keyboard will not sync with my ipad. What do I need to do?

Follow the Pairing instructions for the keyboard again.  You may need to press a button to get it back to pairing mode.

Different keyboards have different ways to pair so without knowing the exact make and model of the keyboard its hard to offer anything more specific.

tried your instruction on the pairing instructions and the green light comes on the keyboard but the ipad does nothing. Nothing pops up. The ipad that it was paired with recently is no where close.

if the other device is present then go to settings->bluetooth and make sure it does not connect to it

it can't pair with the new device if it's connected

then go to the new ios device settings->bluetooth if it does not show up under devices then

put it in pairing mode (it has to blink)

    1. The green LED should begin blinking if the keyboard is not already paired and connected to another computer. The blinking LED indicates that the keyboard is in the discoverable mode. If you don't pair your keyboard with your Mac within three minutes, the indicator light and keyboard will turn off to preserve battery life. If this happens, press the On/Off switch to turn your keyboard on again. Note: If the LED doesn't turn on, make sure you have good batteries in the keyboard and that they are properly installed.

On the iPad, can you see the Keyboard in Settings->Bluetooth?  Making sure Bluetooth is turned on there?

Other than that follow Rudegar's instructions to pair it again.

The other device is not present right now. Do I need to wait for it to be present so it can be cleared? My green LED turns on for a few mins and turns right back off. My Bluetooth is on but nothing shows up that the ipad can pair with. Could this be a defect in the keyboard? What's the next best thing for me to do?

Try taking the batteries out of the keyboard for a few moments and then putting them back in. Then press the button to pair, and look for it the Bluetooth settings on your iPad.
