Feb 9, 2014 1:20 AM in response to arearefby sarahcheahs,If you'd like to learn how to recover old voice mail messages on iPhone, watch the video or follow the steps below:
Step 1: Open the Phone app and navigate to the "Voicemail" tab at the bottom of the screen.
Step 2: Scroll to the bottom of the list that contains your current messages, then tap on "Deleted Messages." This option will only be available if you have recently deleted any voice mail. The length of time that deleted messages remain available varies by carrier.
Step 3: Here you'll be able to preview any messages that you have recently deleted. If you'd like to restore a message, make sure it's selected and then tap on "Undelete."

May 9, 2014 3:54 PM in response to arearefby Kelly Wilkerson,The first thing I would recommend is to make sure that the reset phone is logged-in to visual voicemail.
- Open your Settings app, and make sure your voicemail password is entered in the phone section of settings.
- Call yourself from your phone and enter your pin at the voice prompt. Make note of whether your messages are still in the voice version of your mailbox.
- Next, have someone else call you and leave a voicemail. See if your phone pops up the alert that you have a voicemail, and see if you can listen to it in visual voicemail.
If you're connected up to visual voicemail, but none of the old messages are available, you can see what messages you have in older backups using third-party software. I work on Decipher VoiceMail, a program that will let you recover deleted voicemails from your iPhone backups by allowing you to see your full voicemail history that was accessible in all of your iPhone backups. The software looks for your iTunes backups automatically and presents you with the log of your voicemails organized by contacts.
(Note: As I mentioned, I work for the company that develops Decipher VoiceMail that I recommended, so I stand to benefit from my recommendations here.)

Sep 21, 2014 3:27 PM in response to ycasillasby Brou,I just upgraded to an iphone 6. Using iExplorer, I too was able to hear my mother's voice again. That software made me very happy. I had been saving those voicemails, and I thought I'd never hear them again.

Mar 29, 2015 9:37 PM in response to vlnvideoby andi_girl1001,I upgraded to the iPhone 6, after a week I thought about making sure that my saved voicemails were still on my phone. I was devastated to find that some of my most sentimental voicemails were gone. After about an hour of looking on my phone service carrier's website I decided to look here. Per the comments I downloaded iExployer. It worked effortlessly! I registered and paid because I wanted to make sure that the information could all be found. I did not see an option for a free version. However the fee was reasonable, within seconds my precious voicemails were saved on my hard drive and can be easily exported to an external hard drive for save keeping. I am so thankful that I can hear my sweet Grandmother's voice! I would highly recommend iExplorer. I am so thankful that I found this information! Thank you!

Mar 30, 2015 5:30 AM in response to arearefby Stuart Hemsley,Oh..., I notice this "I have this question too Show 110 Likes (110)", that's means many people want to recover lost or deleted voice mail messages from their iPhone. For some new one with the same problem, you may refer to this similar discussion. Though there are many answers for this problem in the disscusion, but sometimes you need a simple answer.

Apr 16, 2015 11:48 AM in response to vlnvideoby FiFi110,I just wanna say thank you for your wonderful suggestion! I, too, lost my father and I had accidentally also lost his voicemails on my phone recently. I was crying and panicking because I thought that I won't ever be able to get back those precious voicemails, but then I found this forum, and only your suggestion proved to be successful! I'm so grateful! And of course relieved that I was able to get back what I once thought was impossible, plus more! I now have so many voicemails from my father, most of which I forgot that I had in the first place! I even have access to tons of other messages from various people over the years that I'll leisurely look through at a later time.
So thanks again!! Perhaps one might say that I'm being emotional over something a tad trivial, and while I agree that getting back voicemails is certainly not as good as getting back my father, I'd rather have his voice and memories with me than nothing at all.
P.S. To everyone who needs to recover old voicemail messages that can no longer be found in your phone, please get iExplorer from Macproplant...it really works!

Jun 25, 2015 8:16 PM in response to arearefby DesmondShort,1. If you've deleted a voicemail message that you really wish you hadn't, simply swipe down your row of messages, all the way to the bottom of the list, and tap on "Deleted Messages."
2. If you have turned on iCloud backup setting on your iPhone before, all your voicemail will be backed up to cloud automactically, you can recover iPhone voicemail messages from the backup easily.
3. You can choose to restore everything from an iTunes backup, it requires that you have connected your iPhone to computer before and iTunes backup your phone.
Both ways the backup will replace your current data on your device. You can go check the official guide for more operational details:
Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup - Apple Support

Oct 26, 2015 5:46 AM in response to vlnvideoby parekhv,Hi,
I encountered a similar issue. Yesterday, the AT&T rep put a new SIM card on my phone & I lost my mom's voicemails which were retrieved from the 'deleted folder' from iphone voicemail. I tried using iExplorer but couldn't find any of her messages. All I could find were messages from past 1 month. Can anyone suggest any other way to retrieve those messages?

Nov 28, 2015 4:24 AM in response to arearefby holleyfromglasgow,I lost all my voicemail from my Granny who passed away, I swapped sim cards with my husband for a day and then they were gone. I was absolutely heartbroken - but wiped the phone and restored from backup from a few days ago and they are all now back. Hope this helps.
