Jul 26, 2014 9:03 AM in response to fjs88by Limnos,★HelpfulA library is everything in your iTunes folder. If you don't use standard preferences then it could extend beyond your folder. iDevice backups are stored outside this area but aren't really part of your media library anyway. The iTunes folder/library pretty much only contains media related items and not other sync functions with an idevice.

Jul 26, 2014 10:07 AM in response to fjs88by fjs88,This all kinda explains what is going on. Guess I can delete the previous library and replace it w/o concern about losing contacts or anything else.
I've not synced anything and my ringtones are all gone now. This is really strange. If I can get my ringtones back, I'd just run with that and not try to add any libraries until iPhone 6 comes out.

Jul 26, 2014 12:57 PM in response to fjs88by Limnos,★HelpfulIt helps to outline what your desired goal is in doing all this, otherwise you get the direct answer you want but not necessarily the one you need. It sounds like you moved things and it didn't all go correctly. There is a ringtone folder in your media folder (see the links I provided). Your ringtones are there and should appear in your library if you have selected the preference to display ringtones. If they are not there you will need to get them from your backup drive because ringtones are not among the things which can be repeatedly downloaded from the Store.
