Oct 17, 2013 6:19 PM in response to Anon12345678by GeekBoy.from.Illinois,Settings -> Messages -> Send & Receive. Select your phone number for the "You can be reached by iMessage at" section, and for the "Start new conversations from" section. The latter is probably the one you want to change.

Correct.
Nothing tells you to find that.
For iMessaging Activation issues, go to Settings > Messages.
For FaceTime activation issues, go to Settings > FaceTime.

Mar 19, 2015 1:19 AM in response to Daisy1604by bad.badger,If you want to have your number exclusively in iMessage, you need to disable any e-mail entry under "You can be reached at iMessage at". It will then automatically disable all entries under "Start new conversations from". Taa daa! You have only your phone number active in iMessage conversations!
