Jul 29, 2014 2:11 AM in response to jasonfrommonroetonby Barney-15E,Maps cannot determine your location without wi-fi enabled. You don't have to use Wi-fi, you just need it on.
If you don't want to use Wi-Fi for Internet, move Ethernet above it in the Services list in the Network System Preferences.
Otherwise, don't ask Maps for your current location. You might see if you can disable location services for Maps.
