Jul 28, 2014 10:41 AM in response to vsithapeby Ralph Landry1,The last of the Snow Leopard version is 10.6.8...you are much better off just doing the software update to 10.6.8...better security patches.

Jul 29, 2014 7:52 AM in response to Ralph Landry1by vsithape,I tried that mate but my mac does not updates to 10.6.7 . It stays on 10.6.6 after updating several times. Even I tried installing updates through downloads but gets following notice
"Updates can not be installed on this disk. Volume does not meet the requirement"
Can any one suggest me way out of it.????

Jul 29, 2014 8:23 AM in response to vsithapeby Neilo,I've updated a few Macs from Leopard to Snow Leopard, then onto Lion. Are you looking to get to Lion or further? As Ralph mentioned the last version of SL is 10.6.8, I don't think there's a 10.6.7 update available per se. I have the retail version on disk 10.6.3, after successful install I think there's a combined updater to take you to 10.6.6, then another substantial update to 10.6.8, and another final updater which is mostly apps and security. If you are at 10.6.6 I would have thought that Software Update would be showing a combined update to 10.6.8.
Can you screen grab and post the list of updates available after you click 'Software Update' or of any error messages that pop up?

Jul 29, 2014 9:10 AM in response to vsithapeby Neilo,Looks like you've got an actual .dmg of a software update [which appears to be incompatible with your MB], what happens when you try to use 'Software Update' from the Apple Menu?

Jul 29, 2014 9:30 AM in response to vsithapeby Neilo,Is there a list of other updates aswell as the 10.6.8 Combined Update? If so, uncheck them from installing and just run the OS update. If you can screen grab the list of updates available to you and post please.

Jul 30, 2014 3:25 AM in response to vsithapeby Neilo,That link works fine for me. It is not the same installer you have tried, I'm inclined to believe this one will work.
Here's where I got the link, maybe you can open this one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mac_OS_X_Snow_Leopard#Release_history
I uploaded the .dmg to my FTP site: https://irishinternational.egnyte.com/h-s/20140730/ezt8nU3Rlz
However you should be able to find everything you need on that Wiki page.
Good luck.
