Jan 15, 2014 11:29 AM in response to SlartibartfastPLby vbcanuck,"The simplest solution: Just copy QTMovieWin.dll to folder where iTunes.exe were installed"
This worked for me. Appending the Apple Application Support to my Path didn't work.

Mar 8, 2014 2:18 PM in response to vbcanuckby wrenak,I tried appending the path, I tried opening iTunes as administrator, and I copied that file to the folder with iTunes.exe. It still crashes every time I try to access the store. So now what?

Mar 26, 2014 11:47 AM in response to greenboy1by duzguna,I had a different dll error on Windows 7, Dell Laptop x64.
The error in event viewer:
Faulting module path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\***.dll
First I repaired "Apple Application Support" through Control Panel > Programs
Didn't help.
Then I added the system variable for path:
C:\program files (x86)\common files\apple\apple application support\
Didn't help.
Then I copied C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\***.dll
To C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
Didn't help.
Then I copied C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\QTMovieWin.dll
To C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
Problem Solved!
Try the last step even if you get another dll error.
If it doesn't work maybe the order I did this helped.
I did not restart or uninstall/install iTunes.
Thanks to everyone who conrtibuted to this thread.
Apple replaces the dll name because it has three letter that resembles "What The ***" So it is W T and F. Now I understand why this didn't come up in my searches. If they gonna remove it from posts they shouldn't use it as a dll name.

Apr 19, 2014 10:13 AM in response to greenboy1by TeckieGurl,FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE TRIED ALL OF THESE SOLUTIONS AND NONE OF THEM WORKED, HERE IS AN EASY ONE THAT WORKED FOR ME!!!
I was having the same frustrating problem with iTunes crashing whenever I tried to sign into the itunes store. I tried all the solutions I could find in this discussion (and others), but nothing worked. I was having no problem on my Windows XP computer, but recently upgraded to a new lap top with Windows 7, so I was sure there was some compatibility issue with the OS.
Finally, today, I Right-Clicked on the itunes shortcut on my desktop, and noticed the option to "troubleshoot compatibility." I clicked on that and went through the steps. Chose; "Troubleshoot Program," then checked the box for "The program worked in earlier versions of windows..." Then, it asks you which program it worked on before. I chose Windows XP, service pack 3. It then says that settings from that OS have been applied to the program, and you need to start the program using those settings. I did that, and "VOILA!! Problem solved!!! I can now open my iTunes store with NO problems!!!
Basically, the store is incompatible with the Windows Aero theme I have set in Windows 7. So, now whenever I open the store, my desktop temporarily reverts to a Windows 7 Basic theme, but then reverts back to my Aero setting when I close iTunes. So, for a simpler solution, you may just want to change your desktop theme permanently and make sure that it's not using an Aero theme. But, for me, I personally like the transparency affect of Aero, so am going to leave it this way for now. I haven't figured out how I can do so without having to "allow the program to make changes to the computer," but that's fine. I don't mind the extra security step. It makes me "feel secure!"
Hope this helps somebody!!!

May 30, 2014 8:44 PM in response to l9ChevyDriven85by RickWaters,This solution - appending to my path - worked for me after so many other things didn't. Thanks!

I had the same issue as described above... iTunes would crash everytime I tried to open the iTunes Store. My brother, a computer geek, had me do the following and it fixed the problem for me:
1. From your desktop, right-click "My Computer" and click "Properties" (If you don't have the "My Computer" icon on your desktop, use the following steps, 0.1 - 0.5)
0.1 - Click the Start Menu button (Or use the Windows button on your keyboard)
0.2 - Locate "Computer" (should be in the right panel near the middle)
0.3 - Right-click on "Computer"
0.4 - Click "Properties" from the option pane
0.5 - This should have opened the "System" window (in the control panel also), continue to step 2
2. In the "System" window, click on "Advanced system settings", this brings up the "System Properties" window
3. In the "System Properties" window, click on the "Advanced" tab
4. In the "Advanced tab", click the "Environment Variables" button
5. In the "Environment Variables window", find and highlight the "Path" variable in the "Systems Variables" section
6. Click the "Edit" button to bring up the "Edit System Variable" window.
7. Finally, place your mouse cursor at the very end of the "Variable Value", and modify the variable value by adding the following (EXACTLY) to the end:
;C:\program files (x86)\common files\apple\apple application support\

Jun 15, 2014 9:02 AM in response to TeckieGurlby geoffrey2,I am having the same problem but nothing including your solution has worked - the iTunes crashes even in xp mode and reports to Microsoft as an incompatible program.
I had done all the usual fixes including the complete removal and reinstall that Apple suggest.
I have also done a complete reinstall of my Windows 7 64 bit on a fresh hard drive with all the updates and found that iTunes then works perfectly - so its not that Windows 7 on my machine is incompatible.
I therefore suspect that the problem is some registry entry that is not even fixed by Windows Fixit.
If Apple does read these forums I and many others would be grateful for a solution.

Jun 15, 2014 11:15 PM in response to geoffrey2by geoffrey2,Further to my post above I once again removed iTunes from my Windows 7 64 bit computer according to the Apple Support instructions and then used Regedit to remove all references to Apple products from the registry.
After doing a further iTunes reinstall the program now works properly and loads the iTunes Store without crashing.
Apple therefore needs to change the uninstall programs to properly clean the registry of Apple data.

Jul 30, 2014 2:23 PM in response to geoffrey2by Partymonster,No uninstallers completely remove references to the program from the Windows registry.
None of the tried and true solutions worked for me.
Here's how I solved the issue.
I uninstalled iTunes.
Never had the issue again. -
Sep 6, 2014 5:37 AM in response to Partymonsterby Rukur,I have tried all the things above. No luck.
I have even made clean window 7 and 8 VM's and only installed itunes. Locks up every time I click store.
