Jul 30, 2014 9:31 AM in response to reservedmynameby oswaldo_josh,hello there.
i have the same problem but with my iPod nano 3rd gen. i have been calling apple and all they say is to try another computer . i already did and even paid money to a repair shop for them to try and restore it all to same result and same error message.
the other option apple reps gave me even the senior advisor . is that there is a "hardware"issue which i don't believe because it was working fine before i tunes messed with it.
ill suggest for you to keep trying iTunes. if it doesnt work then keep calling apple.
as for my side ill just keep calling apple until they resolve my issue

Jul 31, 2014 7:20 AM in response to reservedmynameby reservedmyname,Thank you for the reply. I'm still having "The ipod software update server could not be contacted" problem:( But I have just managed to reset my ipod. I press the power button and "-" button (the decrease volume button) and my ipod can be use again!
