Q: 1333Mhz ram in 1066 MacBook Pro

I have a MacBook pro (specs below) which specifies DDR3-1066 memory. I ordered an upgrade kit from Ramjet to go from 2GB to 8GB. Installed two 4GB modules and everything seems to be fine. However, after checking "About This Mac" I find that the installed ram is 1333, not 1066. They apparently shipped the wrong thing.

As I said, everything seems fine, despite warnings I've seen here. Has anyone had long-term experience with 1333 ram in a machine with a 1066 bus? Should I cross my fingers and keep going or return them and get 1066 modules?

Daigorochan, I'll be interested to see if you can run google earth with your overclocked ram (please see my post below).

    hi to all

    I'm lost with all this

because I do not know whether or not you can put 1333 in mid2009 mac

because many say that it works.

    here: http://tips.stevenchu.com/tech/upgrade-ram-to-8gb-macbook-pro-mid-2009/

he says it can work because the frequency difference

but it is quite possible that 1333 has come down in 1066

but does anyone use the 1333 in a macbook pro mid2009

    and how long?

and are there any bug or error in the kernel?

thank you for helping me change because I love the memory of my macbook pro mid 2009  ^^

I know it has been almost a year you have ask this but I am here to answer your question I have a MID 2009 MacBook Pro 13 inch with a Intel Core 2 Duo 2.26GHz and I have been running 4gb of RAM 2GB in each slot of DDR3 PC 10600 Which is 1333 for about 3 years now and I have not had a problem at all actually I feel like it runs a lot smoother and the computer fully recognizes it I have done a verity of test on it

One way just to make sure, run Hardware Diagnostic (in some cases you'll need original DVD, mine had written Applications on it, but in others it's built in into Mac, not even OS) by holding D on boot. Run it, see if the system accepts those Ram fine. If it does, it should will OK.

Stick with what your mac runs. just move the GB up. so if you had 2gb 1066mhz than move up to 8gb 1066mhz. why would you mess with 1333mhz.
