Aug 5, 2014 4:02 AM in response to Serenaleby OGELTHORPE,Check the connection points on the charger and the MBA. Make certain that they are clean. If there is any discoloration, that is a bad sign. If no success, make an appointment at an Apple store genius bar for a FREE evaluation.
Ciao.

Aug 5, 2014 4:02 AM in response to Serenaleby dominic23,Battery getting "super hot" is not normal.
Reset SMC. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
Choose the method for:
"Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".
If this does not help, contact Apple.
Best.

Aug 5, 2014 7:39 PM in response to Serenaleby John Galt,The answer depends on just how hot is "super hot". It is normal for it to become quite warm. If you can burn yourself by touching it, that's too hot. If you can't, it's OK.
Read Temperature and using the MagSafe Power Adapter in this document: Mac notebooks: Using and maintaining your Apple MagSafe Adapter
"The power adapter may become very warm during normal use as it dissipates operational heat through the adapter casing. The MagSafe and MagSafe 2 Power Adapters comply with the user-accessible surface temperature limits defined by the International Standard for Safety of Information Technology Equipment (IC 60950-1)."
