To import music into your iTunes library on the computer go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Add items to iTunes and follow the instructions
and then sync to the iPhone

Dec 17, 2014 6:06 AM in response to jeet707by MieshaKane,On your computer, launch the latest iTunes, add the music to iTunes library. Then connect iPhone 4 to pc, then on music section, click "Sync". If you want an easier way and willing to pay, iPhone Transfer is your best bet to transfer music from computer to iPhone.

I have been looking for some way to back up music from iphones and an ipad to a single spot. I use Dropbox as you noted above to get all our IOS device photos in one spot. The challenge is getting these to the hard drive in my home. Ideally I would like to do this without a computer attached and more of a Dropbox appliance. I can dream.
