Q: AirPlay in iPhone 5s

Trying to use Airplay but the icon is not available on my iphone 5S. My iphone and Apple TV have updated software. Airplay is enabled on the Apple TV and the are connected to the same wifi network. What am I doing wrong?

iPhone 5s, iOS 7.1.2

Ok. Make sure it is set to the main network, and not a guest (if applicable). Make sure router is up to date and has port 123 open (refer to manual if unsure). If on wifi try ethernet. Check firewall.
