Q: Airplay mirroring broke in 10.9.2

i just updated to 10.9.2 and now when i try and airplay mirror to my Apple TV, it sends the audio but just shows a black screen and i can't drag anything to it. It doesn't show any of the options for external displays in the displays section of System Preferences.

Any ideas? i tried reapplying the combo update with no luck

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)

    Corrections since my last post*

Lets start a list for display streaming apps that prevent airplay from working properly. Their kexts must be removed for airplay to work.

    So far we have:

    • Air Display
    • Air Parrot
    • Splashtop Streamer
    • DisplayPad
    • Screen recycler
    • *Mini Display by Edovia (removing EdoviaVirtualDisplay.kext fixed it for me)

If you discover a new one, please copy/paste this message along with your addition. Thanks.

I was having this same issue but never installed ParrotDisplay.  However, I did have duet installed, a similar third-party app.  After I uninstalled duet and restarted my iMac, the issue was resolved.  I believe that this issue is caused by any third-party screen sharing app.
