Aug 16, 2014 2:25 PM in response to daily.sby Linc Davis,It's likely that the startup drive, or some other hardware component, is failing. Back up all data immediately, then make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine tested.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.

Aug 17, 2014 5:11 AM in response to Linc Davisby daily.s,Thanks!
Just backed it up. I used time machine. Is that enough you think? It seems like it is getting worse. This morning it took my around 10 attempts just booting the poor thing and it switched between a question mark and then sometimes the "don't park here sign".
It's like it has got the flu!
