Q: My iPhoto Library disappeared...how do I get it back?

I have a MacBook Pro with a 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7 processor and 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 memory

I am running OS-X Version 10.9.4 and iPhoto Version 9.5.7 (902.1)

I tried to open my version of iPhoto, and got an empty library selection window.  Where did my library (and its 15,000 edited and annotated photos) go?

I tried to find the iPhoto library file in Time Machine and there is no Library file in the recent backup Pictures folders.  The backup of a week ago contains only about 1,500 jpg files.

Where did my pictures go, and how do I get them back?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

1 - is your version of iPhpto 9.5.1?  I assume your post has a typo

    2- what has recently changed?

3 - you do not "find" files in your TM backup - your restore them - see Mac Basics: Time Machine backs up your Mac for TM instructions

4 - easiest way is to restore your backup from before he issue occured

Download and run Find Any File to search for a file with "ThumbJPGSegment" in the file name. These are files common to all versions of  iPhoto libraries.

FAF can search areas that Spotlight can't like invisible folders, system folders and packages. If there's a library hiding somewhere on your hard drive FAF will find it.
