Q: i cannot get sound to play out through my mini display port

I have my mac hooked up to my tv via a mini display to hdmi adapter. The picture comes out fine, but I cannot get the sound to come through. I have gone under sound options and it doesnt show any options for sound output other than internal speakers. I have restarted my computer with everything hooked up. Please help if you can

Thanks for contacting Apple Support Communities.

Your computer may not supply audio via the Mini DisplayPort. Take a look at this article for your compute and find out if it supplies audio.

If your computer is on the list that should supply audio and video, then take a look at this to adjust your sound output.
