Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like your editing Documents in the Cloud on your MacBook Pro but aren't seeing the changes on your iPad or iCloud.com. The article linked below provides a lot of great information that will resolve most issues like the one you described.

I ended up moving the documents I needed from iCloud to my HD. Restarted my i Pad once more. Then I moved the docs back to the cloud. That worked, but ... .
