Mine has started with the message after updating iTunes today. The Apple Tech geeks/wizzes best start earning their money by getting a fix sorted!

I have just purchased an iPad Air with 128GB. So far the only use it has had is to load 3 short TV programmes purchased from the Apple Store and 9,000 photos. I was in the process of loading more photos yesterday, 19Aug14, when I received the error message you are all talking about "iTunes was unable to load data class information from Sync Services. Reconnect or try again later." I, like the other people on this thread, have tried all the suggestions to clear the problem with no success. I am hoping that someone with more brains than me can solve this impasse. I have the latest version of iTunes and Windows 7 which is up to date.

Had the same problem since last night.  Spent 4 hours trying the various "solutions".

It works on a laptop with old version of iTunes and without recent windows updates. But not on PC with everything up to date.

Now Laptop wants to update! Trying not to do accidentally.

    So frustrating.

A rather drastic way round it was to do a basic install of windows and iTunes on a separate drive. (disabling updates) until Apple/MS do a fix.

A little experimenting shows that once the hotfixes from 16th Aug have been installed, you're f**ked as uninstalling these and even going back restore points does not cure the problem.

No I've tried back dating mine a week and this hasn't worked, this is nothing to do with my computer I've called four friends all have same problem now know it's not a iTunes fault it's Microsoft update that caused the problem and even now when I took my back before last update it doesn't work? so MS have got to sort this quick

I've had this error too - just as of today, like you guys, and have tried all the various fixes seen elsewhere (resetting sync history, renaming the Sync Services folder, running as administrator and two totally clean installs etc. - was even about to reinstall Windows and start everything from scratch!) and am really worried as I'm using my iPod at my wedding to run the disco!

Anyway, that's by the by - I've tried it with my iPod, iPad and iPhone and the same happens with each one - and the other thing I notice is that plugging a device in makes iTunes very sluggish and it shows all the data on the device to be "other" data (am guessing it's a side effect of not being able to sync). Each device works fine and I can still play what's on each device - but I just can't sync.

Am "glad" I'm not the only one having this problem - I'll keep an eye on the thread to see what other suggestions come up.

To throw in my two cents, I have the same issue too. It's been happening for, roughly, five days now and like most on this thread I've been using the latest version of iTunes (currently 13.1.2) and the latest version of Windows 7. None of the support articles and troubleshooting guides have yielded any results.

I am also experiencing this problem since 18 August. Previously my iPhone 6 synced perfectly with Outlook 2013.

Checked my wifes iphone4, my iphone5 my ipad2 all have the same error, and when I go to check preferences no devices are listed in sync history !!!, nothing in the advice linked works.

Interestingly my ipod classic still syncs perfectly

I spent 6 hours yesterday resetting everything. I have cleared all my settings and followed all help instructions I could find on the web. Nothing! This is a joke. I have lost my backups, my app layouts etc. and am left with nothing but a 5S I am ready to throw in the bin. Perhaps its time to switch to Android? Apple, You hearing this? No wonder Samsung sell more devices globally than Apple. Cheaper and it works. ITunes for Windows has always been a joke! I have expensive apps, such as TomTom but I am willing to buy them again on a platform that works.
