Q: iTunes 11.3.1 problem

Since updating to iTunes 11.3.1 on August 8, 2014 I can no longer download updates to apps for iPad , iPhone in iTunes although each device can download directly without using iTunes

OS X Mavericks (10.9.4)

Thanks. I tried these suggestions, but so far no luck. I will have to call iTunes technical support as soon as I have the time to be on a long call.
