Q: Wake from Sleep or Shutdown: 2009 MBP Mavericks
i tried researching this about a year ago, checked all my settings and basically chalked this up to my computer feeling like it was a dud straight out of the box. anyway, today i woke the computer from shutdown and it took something like a minute and a half - first showing battery change and grey screen, then going to icons on the desktop, then hanging for awhile and then finally showing dock icons and apparently ready to use. this seems like a very long hang time and when i combine this with the funky behavior out of sleep (essentially the same thing AFAIK) it seems like something is wrong that has never been addressed properly.
i can't really remember if this got worse with my move to mountain lion or to mavericks but the sleep, wake, battery power on this machine has always been a bit of a nightmare.
are the new ones any better or do they have the same issue?
am i missing something? is this normal operating procedure for these laptops?
MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9)
