It sounds like you are using the Define function in iBooks and you are wanting to increase the size of the font on the page showing the definition. The size of that text can be controlled in the Text Size section:
To adjust the font size, follow these steps:
- Go to Settings > General > Text Size.
- Drag the slider to the preferred size. The text on the screen will adjust as you move the slider.

Jul 10, 2016 8:05 AM in response to sterling rby Brett A Ryan,This answer is incorrect on iPhone with iOS 9.3.2 and the font size of the define feature does not adjust with the system font setting or when enabling extra large font suzes in accessibility settings.
it appears there is no way to increase the font size of the define feature in iOS which is a shame as it's extremely tiny and unreadably for myself without using screen magnification.
Note the define feature is an os text service not a feature offered directly from iBooks alone
