Aug 25, 2014 3:29 AM in response to JoellafromUKby Roger Wilmut1,★HelpfulThe usual reason for a link which works locally but not once published is that it's to a local file on your Mac, rather than to a file placed on a server. If you've simply dragged the file into iWeb but not uploaded it then iWeb would be trying to link to a non-existent URL on the server. Of course there may be other reasons but it's not possible to comment further unless you care to post the relevant web page URL.

Aug 25, 2014 7:39 AM in response to Roger Wilmut1by JoellafromUK,Thanks Roger,
Unfortunately, I can't implement your solution as now When I try to publish the changes I have the following error message.
A connection to aquaman.dreamhost.com could not be established. Verify your settings and try again.
I have checked I am connected to the internet but I am not sure what else to check.
My URL is www.joellabruckshaw.co.uk
I really appreciate your help in this.

Aug 25, 2014 8:18 AM in response to JoellafromUKby Roger Wilmut1,★HelpfulThe 'Download now' link is contained within a box which also contains the 'A free copy of my e-book' text and a number of empty paragraphs which provide a space over which the image is laid in another box.
Below it is a box containing 'What others say' and the subsequent text. This box is loading after the box containing the 'Download now' link and is overlaying it, thus preventing the text, though visible, from acting as a link.
You should put 'What others say' in its own box, and ensure that it, and the box containing the text below, do not overlay the 'Download now' link. The link itself, once unblocked, should work - the file to which it points downloads OK (though as it's a PDF most browers will display it rather than actually download for access in a local reader).
As to your inability to upload that could be caused by an incorrect entry in iWeb or a problem with your server.

Aug 25, 2014 8:31 AM in response to Roger Wilmut1by JoellafromUK,Aaaahhhh I see! That helps enormously.
I can do that but now as a result of thinking about it further I have decided it would be better to ask them to send me an email requesting the ebook as this is an elegant way of achieving the same thing as asking them to sign in to get the ebook which visitors are often reluctant to do. More personal.
I still have the problem about publishing the changes. Any ideas?

Aug 25, 2014 8:33 AM in response to JoellafromUKby Roger Wilmut1,Not having access to your settings or server it's difficult to comment. A common cause of this sort of thing is an incorrect entry in the 'Path' field, the contents of which vary from one hosting service to another. You should check carefully with their documentation that what you have there matches what they expect. Of course if the server is suffering an outage or problems then only the service can solve that.
