No. Did you create a new user in the Setup Assistant when you upgraded? Several people have done so. The system then boots into that new user account.
Please log out and see if there are two options from which to log in. If so, log in as your old user.

Aug 30, 2014 5:49 PM in response to Hcogby Barney-15E,I’m confused. By old ID do you mean you have another account besides the one you used before, or just the two accounts, yours and Guest.
If it is just yours and Guest, then log back into your account. That wasn’t the problem.
If you don’t have a new account, then try to search for iPhoto Library with Spotlight. Perhaps you didn’t have your old iPhoto Library in your Pictures folder and it is somewhere else.

That’s what I thought you meant so my guess wasn’t correct.
Search for ‘iPhoto Library’ in Spotlight. See if you find one somewhere else besides the Pictures folder.

Aug 31, 2014 7:42 PM in response to Barney-15Eby Hcog,I upgraded to Mavericks via the Apple website and this link. https://www.apple.com/osx/
All of my other documents and images (not from iPhoto) are on the computer, so I don't think I erased the disk.
iSkySoft Data Recovery App found my photos, now I have to pay to restore them.
