    1. Connect your Iphone

    2. Open itunes

3.Click the square that is in the top to the right that says "Iphone"

    4. Make sure you created a New Playlist on your Iphone

    >>>How to make a Mew Playlist<<<

        a. go to music

        b. click playlist

        c. + New Playlist

    >>>>

    5. You are gonna see a list of the music you already have on your Iphone

    6. below that list it should say "Autofill from"

    7. Click "Autofill from"

    8. Your New Playlist should be on the list

    9. Click you New List

    10. Next to "Autofill from" there is gonna be "Settings" and "Autofill"

    11. Click "Autofill"

    12. It will select automatically the music you want...and leave out the ones you already have ( don't worry it won't delete your purchased ones on ur phone)

    13. Make sure to go check you Iphone, go to the music icon and click the "New List" u already created and find the music you wanted to download

    14. ENJOY

Connect your phone to your computer. Your iTunes library is empty so click on "scan device for music".

There is no "scan device for music" option. Transfer purchases from device will only copy over iTunes store purchases, any media ripped from CD or purchased elsewhere will be left behind and wiped if iTunes is allowed to sync the device.

See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for a complete solution.

Because it is not supposed to... Add folder to library cannot use a device as the source folder. See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

iFunBox is a completely free program for Windows and Mac. I couldn't find a solution in any forums so I went to good old YouTube.

    Here's a link to the program: http://www.i-funbox.com/

This is also the YouTube video I watched that led me to the program with instructions on how to use it. I was surprised by how easy it was after downloading heaps of different programs that ultimately would want me to pay to use it completely.

    http://youtu.be/Gvp2GJCFXzc

IT IS COMPLETELY FREE AND EASY TO USE! This is the solution that we're all looking for I think.

This worked eventually for me, but you have to be patient, it takes a while to detect the device, and kept giving me an error message until it finally loaded.

See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device. Explore the alternatives. Ease of use comes at a price, but there are free solutions if you're prepared to put in a bit of effort. My list isn't comprehensive but I've tried to exclude anything that isn't upfront if it costs. Nothing worse than the "free download" that tells you it can unlock your data, but then asks for your credit card at the last minute.

I posted this before and it got removed.... probably for "advertising" or some crap.... I'm not trying to sell anything, I'm just trying to help. So I'm posting it again in hopes that it makes someone's day

The first thing you need to do (FOR MAC ONLY) is to go here and download this free program (trust me, I'm usually hesitant on downloading stuff, but this program is a life saver!). The download took a total of maybe 10 seconds... user friendly and extremely simple program, as you'll soon find out.

    http://www.headlightsoft.com/detune/downloads.html

Once you've successfully installed DeTune, run the program! Once you connect your device, it will automatically show what device is connected. You're ready...

Step One: Connect your iPhone to your laptop (USB) - ignore iTunes if it opens, but CANCEL any sync that may occur (if it doesn't; even better!)

Step Two: In DeTune, it should automatically recognize your device (iPhone) and show all of the data in an iTunes-style display. On the left-hand side, you'll see tabs for Music, Podcasts, etc. (JUST LIKE iTUNES) Step Three: THIS STEP IS NOT NECESSARY, but I highly recommend it to keep all of your stuff organized: Create a new folder on your desktop (title it whatever, I used "iPhone Transfers")

Step Four: In DeTune, select everything you want to transfer. DRAG AND DROP it into the folder you made on your desktop... wait for the copying to complete.

Step Five: Stare at the screen in complete awe and amazement as all of your music is now comfortably sitting on your desktop waiting to be imported into your iTunes music library!

My files were in m4a format, so you may not be able to simply drag and drop. Import them into iTunes via FILE ---> ADD TO LIBRARY, then select the files.... Don't know why you can't just drag and drop, but that works just the same.

I hope this helped! I know I was in the same boat for quite a while, and am VERY pleased with this program. I bet my post disappears within a week

Good luck and Happy New Year!!!

It's saying it has synced all the music on my iTunes library but when I eject my phone it hasn't There also those little circles next to the songs that haven't been put onto my phone HELP?!

See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

Once you have all recovered all of the media from the device take these steps to rebuild it.

    1. Backup the device.
    2. Restore as a new device.
    3. Restore the backup you made earlier.
