Sep 1, 2014 2:03 PM in response to Joetynby Kappy,Are you quite sure? Check your model identifier. If you have the first model released, then it cannot run anything past Lion. Be sure you meet ALL the requirements.
Upgrading to Mavericks
You can upgrade to Mavericks from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mavericks can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for FREE.
Upgrading to Mavericks
To upgrade to Mavericks you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Download Mavericks from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mavericks is free. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.

Sep 1, 2014 2:11 PM in response to Kappyby Joetyn,Thanks for helping.......I have checked and the Model Identifier is 1.1, so Mavericks cannot be installed. can i still install Mountain Lion?
-
Sep 1, 2014 2:20 PM in response to Joetynby Kappy,No. That model can only install Lion. Unless you really need Lion, you will be better off sticking with Snow Leopard. Otherwise:
Contact Apple to see if they can transfer your payment for a Lion download coupon.
