Thread hijacking is not helpful either.

Sep 2, 2014 4:51 PM in response to ckuanby aprilshower2482,Great news! After working on this for more hours than I care to recall, I have located my missing ringtones. I finally found my ringtones in a folder on my computer using the following pathway: Music --> iTunes --> iTunes Music --> Tones. (Earlier, I had looked under Music --> iTunes --> iTunes Media --> Tones, but sadly only found the 3 ringtones that were already appearing on my iTunes and new iPhone 5s. I have no idea why or how two different Tones folder were created and in two different locations.) Anyway, I was able to copy all of my ringtones from this folder in Windows Explorer and then paste the ringtones into my iTunes Library in the Tones subdivision. They easily transferred. Now that I have synced “all tones” on my iPhone 5s, the ringtones also appear on my phone! I am so glad!
I hope that this solution will work for you too or is at least helpful in some way, robertfromdumfries.

I think the folder locations changes through iTunes upgrades.

Sep 3, 2014 3:04 PM in response to ckuanby robertfromdumfries,II have to admit defeat. Despite my search and examination of the hard drive, I simply do not have the ringtone anywhere, except on my iPhone 4s. My wife will simply have to buy it again.
thanks to all who offered suggestions.
