Sep 3, 2014 5:30 PM in response to Pramod patilby K Shaffer,Sounds to me, the retail location you bought the MagSafe adapter from may have
wanted to sell you another electrical adapter in addition to whatever they come with.
The AC input section of the MagSafe adapter is removable, an optional cordset or
a different power tap end can be fitted in place of whatever one is default on yours.
The little end part of the cube comes off, and a different one to work with your local
mains power would replace it. That is all you should need, since the MagSafe itself
can be used without any other modification, between 100v and 240v. Except for the
physical shape of the part plugging into the main AC power, the rest is automatically
able to adapt to the correct output for the computer to work.

You should be able to purchase a single correct-type power connector that replaces
the one that comes off the MagSafe power cube, to match the main AC power where
you live. There is a larger 'travel kit' that shows an assortment, but you only need to
get the correct single part for your MagSafe adapter to match the household socket.
There are six different shaped adapter plugs in their kit, but I don't see one which
says it will work in India; so you'd have to check to get the correct single-one.

So I'd be curious to know what one you need, there likely are others available.
The Apple store or authorized affiliate reseller there should have the right one.
And you should not have to buy the whole kit to obtain one local plug adapter.
Good luck & happy computing!
