Sep 5, 2014 7:22 PM in response to Theacrosoftnby FishingAddict,Three thoughts:
1) depending on where you are using it, disable either WiFi or Cellular radio. The wireless radios are a major power consumer and you rarely need both. The nice thing about iOS 7 is you can do this quickly and easily by swiping from the bottom up and toggling on/off these radios.
2) if you don't need Location services then disable it altogether or at least go to Privacy settings and disable it for all apps that simply have no reason to want your location. The GPS radio is another big consumer of power.
3) make sure that you are using a suitable charger and that it's an original Apple charger and not a cheap 3rd party knockoff. Also, note that the chargers that come with iPhones are not suitable wattage for charging your iPad. You can charge an iPhone with the charger that came with an iPad but typically not the other way around.

Sep 5, 2014 7:30 PM in response to Theacrosoftnby Theacrosoftn ,Thanks ya all. That's what I did, no, seriously. Also, it was the charger which came out of the box when I brought my iPad... Only thing tho, it was from a friend in a country which dosent have the same plug as in Canada, its those in Asia. Will it affect charging? I heard that the geniue iPad chargers are overpriced.

Sep 5, 2014 8:34 PM in response to Theacrosoftnby FishingAddict,★HelpfulYou may want to borrow someone else's iPad charger and give it a try. It's always possible that it is damaged and not fully charging your iPad.
Although many will argue that Apple products (including chargers) are overpriced, I'm a firm believer that they work as advertised for the life of my products. Quality does matter and Apple absolutely does deliver on quality (in my option).

Sep 6, 2014 2:18 PM in response to Theacrosoftnby Texas Mac Man,Could be the charger, cable or iPad. Plug the USB cable into your computer. It may say "Not Charging", however, it is charging slowly and will verify that the cable is good. If your computer/iTunes does not recognize the iPad, then the cable is probably bad.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. Sep 6, 2014 2:24 PM in response to Theacrosoftnby AppleFanboyCanada,Disable Bluetooth close all open apps make sure you are using a proper charger so it charges faster

Sep 6, 2014 2:27 PM in response to AppleFanboyCanadaby deggie,There are very few "open" apps around. The only ones I recommend closing are those that are using location services. But that is in the link I posted above. The only time I turn off Bluetooth is when I am using another device to connect to speakers/headphones. Have never seen any significant battery change with BT.

Sep 6, 2014 3:46 PM in response to Theacrosoftnby MichelPM,To prolong battery life, I keep the screen brightness to around 50 percent as I find that iOS 7 is just too bright for my eyes.
Doing just this alone will prolong battery life.
I found that leaving Bluetooth on when not using it can suck additonal battery life. So, leave Bluetooth off when not using it.
