    afaik, iPhoto doesn't support copy/paste of screen-grabs.

Open Preview.app, then copy/paste, then 'save as', then open in iPhoto.

Unfortunately it is not a screen grab. I cannot copy and/or save a "freeze frame" in iMovie. I can't believe there is is not a simple button to grab a picture from a movie. That would be too much like every windows movie editor in existence...Maybe I'll just do it on my work computer.

OK I ended up taking a screen grab (shift+command+3) from the full screen freeze frame in the (paused) movie. It saves a PNG file to the desktop. Open that with Preview. There is no option Save As so I used Export. Made it a jpeg "Large" , renamed it and save to desktop. Then Import to iPhoto Library.

So much for clicking a button...

Apple should be embarassed! This is the same kind of problem I run into ever since switching to MAC. I know people say that Apple doesn't even look at these posts (on THEIR website). I can't imagine that is possible in this mad world of market research mega-data collection, where companies spend millions to find out what people think.  Well, they probably know who I am, how much I earn, how many kids, where I just vacationed and took video & pictures, how many hours I spent using iMovie this month, but they would never READ feedback from known customers!

if you have a suggestion, contact Apple direct:

This is meant as a user2user-board ... no use for a company to dig thru this pile of complains repetitive posts ...

speaking of FAQ, there's a section for that either, User Tipps:

How can I make a still frame from iMovie 11? (also works in iMovie 10)
