Q: Changing Apple ID on iPhone (iMessage, Facetime, Find My Phone, iCloud)

I'm having an issue changing everything on my iPhone to my new Apple ID account. I want to change my iCloud account to the new one, but the password for my old account will not work. I've tried to delete it entirely, but Find My Iphone requires my old Apple ID's password, which doesn't work. Therefore, I am stuck. In addition, I can't change my iMessage and Facetime over until I have the old ID's password.

The whole reason I'm even in this situation is because my password stopped working for my old Apple ID.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,

iPhone 5s, iOS 7.1.1

    Hi daivis.conley,

Generally, creating an entirely new Apple ID may not be the best approach when having password issues, due in part to the sheer number of services that are tied to it. If you are unable to log in to your old Apple ID due to a password issue, you may find the following articles helpful:

Thanks, brenden dv. I read both of the articles you sent me; however, my password is still not resetting for that Apple ID. I've checked my main email address along with any others I think would be associated with it. Only one received an email allowing me to verify the Apple ID. But, once I clicked on verify, a message pops up saying that email address was previously verified, and it won't let me continue to changing the password.

As I mentioned before, I already have created a new Apple ID, which you said wasn't a good idea. oops. My phone is still not letting me switch over to the new Apple ID icloud services without first entering in my previous password that apparently no longer exists except in my head.

Is there a number I can call where someone can clear up all this over the phone?

    Thanks for your help!
