Sep 11, 2014 3:07 AM in response to colomboleleby Barney-15E,★HelpfulYou need to use Internet Recovery to take it back to the OS that shipped on it. Then, you can upgrade to Mavericks as necessary. With normal Recovery, it uses the OS that is currently installed.

Sep 11, 2014 5:06 AM in response to colomboleleby Csound1,I think that you are mistaken, different thing.
The reason I think that is because you will be the very first person to experience the unusual experience of having a Mac download a Beta OS from its Internet Recovery System.
How about a picture before you go to the Apple Store, show me the first Recovery Screen (the one with the spinning globe)

Sep 11, 2014 6:00 AM in response to colomboleleby Loner T,Your Mac is registered with Apple servers with Yosemite, not Mavericks. If you have upgraded to Mavericks using the App Store, you will need to download the Installer on an external device (USB/external HDD) and re-install Mavericks.
Using the same machine for both Yosemite and Mavericks is not recommended.

Sep 11, 2014 6:50 AM in response to Loner Tby Csound1,For how long have Apple been supplying Yosemite (pre release) via the Internet Recover servers, I have not heard any information (until this thread) about it and am rather surprised that a Beta OS is being pushed as a recovery option. Have you seen or heard anything from Apple to support that?
