Q: Can't purchase apps from iPad, 5-6 password confirmations, then time-out

I can't seem to buy non-free apps from the App Store on my iPad. It pops up a message that I have to confirm my details with my apple ID password before continuing. Then it pops up the password window about 5-6 times, followed by a card details screen. Even if I immediately press done on this pop up, it will give me a session timeout message.

I have no problems buying the same apps through my iPod touch.

Has my iPad been hacked or something?

    Hi Gfmcore,

I'm sorry to hear you are having issues logging onto the App Store from your iPad.

To address this issue, I would suggest logging out of the iTunes store on your iPhone, closing all apps, and restarting the iPhone.

Then log into the iTunes Store again and confirm your password and billing information on this device.

    Sign Out of App Store

Settings > iTunes & App Stores

    Tap on your Apple ID

    Tap Sign Out

    Close All Apps

iOS: Force an app to close

    1. From the Home screen, click the Home button twice.
    2. Tap and hold on the app.
    3. When it starts to jiggle, tap the red dot with the minus sign to close it.
    4. Double-click the Home button and try opening the app again.
For more information, see iOS: Understanding multitasking.

    * It's typically unnecessary to force an application to close. You can access all recently used apps by double-clicking the Home button, but these apps are not necessarily open.

iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

    Restarting your device

    1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
    2. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

    iTunes Store: Changing account information

    View Account:

Settings > iTunes & App Stores

    Tap to enter Apple ID

    Tap to enter password

    Tap Sign In

Tap on the Apple ID again

    Tap View Apple ID

    Tap Payment information

Confirm billing information, enter security code, expiration date and year for credit card.

    Tap Done

Tap Done at the top right corner of the screen

If these steps do not resolve the issue, please refer to this article for more information:

Apple - Support - Apple ID

Can't connect to the iTunes Store

I hope this information helps ....

    Have a great day!

    - Judy

I'm having the same issue.  I tried the steps above from Judy, but still having the issue.  Were you ever able to get it resolved?

    Symptoms:

-I cannot purchase "Free" apps from the app store.  When I try to purchase a "free" app, it prompts for my password, I type in the correct password (verified), and it prompts again.

-I cannot View my account from my phone.  It repeatedly prompts for my password.  I've verified my password multiple times by logging in on a computer, but still not able to view my account.
