I have an HP1102W laser printer (firmware version 20130703) which is in the list of Apple airprint printers, a TP-Link TD-W8980 Router and an iPad Mini running IOS7. All have been purchased in the last 6 months. All are operating on the same wireless network - in case it makes any difference, the system is in Greece.

I just cannot get 'airprint' to work - it just says that no airprint printer can be found.

I have looked at the router set up and can find something that says 'IGMP Snoop' is enabled which I believe is something to do with airprint.

Have tried the 'turn everything off' and then back on in the order router, printer and iPad but still no joy

    Can anybody help ?

On your router refresh the wireless channel

There are about a dozen similar questions on various sites.

Here is an answer I gave on another site specifically about Airprint compatible Brother printers.

Our Brother Airprint printer worked fine with ipad and iphone printing with iOS6, but like many others can't find the printer under iOS7. (This problem is a good reason not to upgrade.)

The problem is that the printer "goes to sleep" and iOS7/Airprint will no longer "wake it up to print."

Most exotic solution involve doing something that wakes up the printer, but then, it goes back to sleep about 3 minutes after the print job is finished.

Solution (1): Plague Brother (email, calls, letters) until they revise the firmware for your printer so that its Airprint feature is compatible with your printer.

Solution (2): Wake up the printer manually by pressing ANY button on the control panel. GO is always nice for this. It is NOT necessary to turn the printer off then on. Pressing a button will wake it up. While the printer is awake, it is findable on your iThingy.

Solution (3): Get into the printer's preferences and reset the "time till sleep" setting to manual, choosing 30 or up to 90 minutes. Then it will stay on longer. It is also possible to turn the sleep function off, but it is hidden and difficult to explain.

Solution (4): Download free app  _Printer Pro Lite_  and set it up for your printer. Unless you want to, do not buy the complete program when prompted. Just reopen the app and tap on your printer name, and this should wake it up. It saves a trip from your iThingy to the printer.

New printer firmware is the only real cure. iOS7 has been out for about six months. Why is this Airprint compatible printer not yet compatible again?

Great job getting to the bottom of this @Kinkazote. I'm wrestling with the same exact issue on a Brother HL-5470DW firmware 1.16. Your steps do work around, but I agree that Brother needs to resolve this.

Apple use to change that they "change everything"...

I will say to you having this problem, reboot everything (rooter, ipad, iphone).and then you will see that your iphone, ipad etc will find your printer.

i did it and works perfect immediately after updated to iOS 7

This worked for me: I have struggled through this for over a year since upgrading to iOS 7, when HP Photosmart 5510 stopped working. Today, just for the heck of it, I switched off WiFi on the printer, and switched it back on, and voila! My iPhone could now find the AirPrint printer. I printed a document and it worked. I am so happy!

Prior to this I had tried all suggestions above - rebooting the WiFi router, rebooting the iDevices; but of no avail.

thank you so much!  After a couple of months not being able to connect with our "air printer" , thinking it was the printer, you solved my problem!  Worked like a charm, you're brilliant:)

This problem has been driving me nuts. Try all of the suggestions shutting everything down bring you back up etc. What finally worked for me I went out to the App Store and got the HP e-print for iPad. Voilà it worked
