Q: Why does my iphone not receive group messages if there is a non iphone user in the group?

I Have an iphone 4 with the latest update. Whenever anyone sends a group message to me when there is a non-iphone user in the group, my phone does not receive the message. I've tried restarting and it doesnt work. i have sms messaging turned on. Any help would be greatly appreciated

iPhone 4, iOS 7.1.2

I tried most of the options found - then called Apple support. What (extra step) that worked for me is logging off the phone (AppleID), then logging back in.

go to Settings -> messages -> send & receive. your apple id will be listed at the top. press that and log off, then log back in. Hope this helps
