Spotlight suggestions can't be activated after ios8 update on iphone 5s

I just updated to ios8 on my iphone 5s. I just wanted to try the new spot light features.

I went to settings->general->Spotlight search    and enabled Spotlight suggestions. This is shown as a tick mark.

**** But when I go back and then return again to the same menu, I see that this option: spotlight suggestions is disabled again. It is not possible to apply this setting.

Without this setting enabled, the new spotlight feature in ios8 will not work.

    Further I see another problem:

Under      settings->gerneral->Spotlight search,  when I try to enable  Bing web results ,    the whole settings applications crashes.

I informed Apple customer care regarding, they provides some troubleshoot but this has not helped.

Has someone else seeing the same issue?

    (A) Try reset iPad

Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home button down together until you see the Apple Logo.

Note: Data will not be affected.

    (B) Close all apps in the multi-task window

    1.Double-click the Home button.

    2. Swipe the app's preview up to close it.

    3. Preview will fly off the screen.

I am having the same problem. The speeds on every other device is fine. Download speeds start out fine then slowly degrade. It is the same way with apps. Stories in News360 can't even be loaded. I have tried the reset and cleared the cache and history.

I am also having this issue. Ever since I upgraded to iOS8 on my iPad Air Wifi performance has been poor. Any apps can and do become unresponsive (if not useless). I have gone so far as to reset my iPad completely and even do a restore, but it has not resolved the issue at all.

My issue is that I had no warning that my Web Journal and Photo Book in iphotos would be not stay intact!  After I installed iOS 8 (from iOS 7) "text and layouts are not preserved"--I spent WEEKS making a journal with text, photos, videos from a Europe trip last summer.  I want to return to my 2 month old iPad!

For everyone having this problem I found on another thread about the iOS 7.1 upgrade people were having the same issues we are now having.  I went to my router setting and disabled the WMM setting.  This has improved performance., but it is still only hitting speeds around 10mbs download when before I would be hitting 50mbs.  But it's better than the 2mbs to 0 mobs I was getting.  Try it and let us know your results.

Here is the thread,  iOS 7.1.1 update causing wifi problems

    Same issue.

    iPad Mini - Retina - 32GB

    On a 5mhz - 802.11n/ac network

VERY SLOW.  Immediately after reboot, it's OK for a few minutes, but eventually all apps, Safari, anything trying to to access gets very slow.

Same problem with me after installing  IOS 8.. After cycling the power on my Ipad Air, wifi will work for a few minutes then either slows down severely or completely stops.

    Same here.

    iPad Air 32 Gig

INternet works fine then after a few minutes of watching a streaming video either from web or my home NAS Wifi just dies.

ONly thing that helps to get my wifi back up is a reboot or reset of all network settings.

Then it will work untill i stream another video. Someimes i will be lucky and could be good for a few hours but most of the time i get between 2-10 min before i need to reboot.

    Very fracking annoying.

Yes, it is the wifi connection that is the problem.  I have now just tried at my office and still experiencing the same issues.  So that means I have tried three different routers, all with the same bad connection results.  Never was like this under ios7.  I have restored, I have reset all network settings, etc.  Nothing works. It has to be something ios8 did.

I am having the same exact problem with my iPad Air, after updating to ios 8. Wifi is either slow or not working at all. I regret updating. My iPad was working perfectly fine before the update. I refuse to update my other apple products.
