Sep 18, 2014 7:39 AM in response to beatrizarcerby KevinC,Same here, reboot iPhone and the shortcuts re-appear but then disappear shortly thereafter. I've done this several times. Following MightyMac's advice, submitting feedback....
Feedback done. Oh, BTW, syncing my iPhone did NOT bring the shortcuts back, only full reboot does.

Sep 18, 2014 7:31 AM in response to KevinCby DanCJ,I've fixed this by going to Settings/iCloud/Docynebts & Data and then turning Documents & Data off and on. No reboot needed - the shortcuts just came back.

Sep 18, 2014 11:01 AM in response to beatrizarcerby avckc,My iPhone 5c also lost all keyboard shortcuts when I upgraded to iOS 8. I have tried all the suggestions here, and none of them have worked. Restarting my iPhone only caused the "omw" shortcut to reappear. One of the posts above suggests turning off/on Settings/iCloud/Documents & Data. My phone now has iCloud Drive (instead of Documents & Data). I tried turning this off/on, but it did not work.

Sep 18, 2014 5:25 PM in response to beatrizarcerby yesh6859,same issue here on my 4S on iOS 8. Toggling the 'Documents and Data' switch off then restarting seems to do the trick only temporarily.
The shortcuts appear and work for a few, but then disappears again.
I'm positive that the shortcuts aren't deleted as they are still on my mac.
Hope we find a workaround or Apple addresses this soon.

Sep 18, 2014 8:00 PM in response to MightyMacby brett.m.w,I did. If others would like to just use this as a sample letter, here is what I wrote to Apple.
These guys summarize the problem: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6537250
All keyboard shortcuts disappeared when I installed iOS 8.
I talked to Apple Care for 2 hours. They tried different things. Nothing worked.
All my keyboard shortcuts are still stored on my Macbook Pro. Isn't there some way to sync them to my iPhone? I have many keyboard shortcuts, and am very unhappy about Apple deleting them in the update without displaying a very large warning that my data is going to be deleted.
If you know a fix, please e-mail _______.
Thank you.

Sep 19, 2014 12:50 AM in response to beatrizarcerby GeoFan49,Either this problem has been fixed by iCloud or iOS support, or my patience won out. Somehow, it works now!
• iPad Air, updated today to iOS 8. Lost all my keyboard shortcuts. Rebooted, no joy.
• Waited half an hour, and all the shortcuts reappeared (in the list) but they did not work in the Notes app.
• When I came back half an hour later, everything was okay. Shortcuts are working now.

Sep 19, 2014 6:10 AM in response to sterling rby psimon88,I am having this problem as well. My shortcuts are there but they do not work. This is very frustrating. I quit on my applications and restarted. The problem persists.

Sep 19, 2014 6:13 AM in response to GeoFan49by milleron,I had a similar happy result. I tried every single workaround in this thread without success. I then gave up and, without rebooting again, just let it sit overnight.
This morning, all shortcuts are restored and working.
Bizarre episode!

Sep 19, 2014 9:26 AM in response to DanCJby gedeyenite,This worked. Thanks for the tip. Glad I don't have to recreate it all.
FyI: I didn't lose them after my iPad Air update to ios8, just on my iphone5 after update.

Sep 19, 2014 10:41 AM in response to sterling rby GeoFan49,I suspect that iOS memory manager may swap out the keyboard shortcuts if it needs memory.
It seems they come and go from time to time.

Sep 19, 2014 3:40 PM in response to yesh6859by caiospessoa,Exactly the same issue here. I have started to create my shortcuts again but they are not syncing between my iPad Air (which had also been upgraded) and my iPhone 5c. Any ideas of what to do to return to sync between Apple devices? I have "upgraded" to the Cloud Drive.
