Q: Mac Mini (2010) connecting to one monitor but not another via DVI
(Apologies if this has been answered before elsewhere, I searched but couldn't find anything)
Just purchased a used Mac Mini. Tried to connect it via the HDMI-DVI adapter to my 2560x1440 monitor, but nothing would show.
Then tried to connect it to my 1920x1080 monitor with the same cable setup, and it worked just fine. Also connected to my HDTV and it worked fine. Tried again on the 2560x1440 monitor, got nothing.
Do I need to purchase the dual-link DVI - displayport adapter to drive the higher resolution? Or is there a better (cheaper!) alternative?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Yes, you need a dual link mini displayport to DVI adapter. The HDMI output only handles up to and including 1920X1200
