Sep 19, 2014 11:17 AM in response to pmlaroucheby realtwang,Send feedback to Apple to make sure they know about the issue. That seems a rather urgent one, and I know they are paying close attention to iOS8 bugs right now.

Sep 19, 2014 12:18 PM in response to Crocosby Taildragger-J3,With much wailing and gnashing of teeth, I "downgraded" back to IOS 7 on my iPad2 today. Had to reintall EVERYTHING!!! but now the HDMI cable works again. Absolutely an IOS 8 bug. I WILL NOT upgrade either my or my wife's pad to IOS8 until I can be sure they have more of the bugs worked out. I don't want to go through this again EVER

Sep 19, 2014 7:30 PM in response to Taildragger-J3by Chuy280zx,I have iPad 2 it just happen to me right after I updated to IOS 8 but it has happen to me before in IOS 7. I have Sony TV to fix it I would shut the TV off unplug then plug the HDMI adapter back into the IPad then turn on the tv. It still has back screen then I would touch the screen for input then the picture is on . Sometimes I would have to do this couple times . I would go months without any problems then the message would show up then I would have to do the something over again. Do not know if it's the Sony TV or the IPad not communicating with each other. The HDMI adapter I have is from Apple.

Following hot on the heals of my 1 year old £1700 iMac developing a hardware fault - it's fair to say that Apple aren't my favourite company at the moment!
Dusted off my 4 year old £500 HP PC whilst it's repaired - not as pretty but at least it works.
