Sep 19, 2014 8:28 AM in response to tomazzzoby Frank Caggiano,Is this a new setup or has it been working and stopped? Are you certain that the Apple TV and the TV are hooked up correctly and that the TV is set to the proper input?
Have you looked at Pairing and unpairing the Apple Remote

Apr 2, 2015 11:40 PM in response to Frank Caggianoby barbs11,I'm having the same problem, and it is a new problem as we've been using the Apple TV with its remote for more than a year. All of a sudden it won't do its job. I have to press the remote repeatedly before it finally responds. When it finally responds, the light blinks in response to the remote like it is doing something, but nothing happens in the TV screen, like there is some sort of a disconnect. I haven't changed anything that would have created a new configuration.

The remote down button only sometimes works
That is not dead which can eternal lie,
And with strange aeons even death may die.

Apr 3, 2015 6:56 AM in response to barbs11by GeoCo,Weak batteries can also cause the remote to work intermittently, have you tired replacing the batteries?
If you have (or you do and nothing changes) then as noted above the remote itself might be on the way out. But as far as any settings that might have changed there is nothing that would cause a remote to behave intermittenly.

Apr 3, 2015 5:00 PM in response to Alley_Catby ccaste,I don't know what that did, but my Apple TV was doing the same thing as described above and when I pressed the Left and Menu together for a few seconds everything was fixed. Working now.
Thanks!!!!

Apr 3, 2015 7:39 PM in response to ccasteby Alley_Cat,This 'unpairs' the AppleTv from working with a particular remote only (it thinks it's paired with a different one to the one you're using).
No need to pair if you are only using a single Apple device in that room.
