Q: Apple Maps doesn't show option to send directions to phone?

Just like during the keynote, I was looking up directions on the new Apple Maps for Mac, yet it doesn't detect my iphone to send directions too. Is there somewhere I have to turn this on??

MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012), Mac OS X (10.7.5)

Make sure the iPhone is turned on.

Just to the right of the "Directions" button on top of Maps, you will see a right-facing arrow.  That's where you will find what you're looking for ... as long as your iPhone is properly set up with Find My iPhone being on and iCloud all set up.

Yes I understand this is where the option should be listed. I've checked all my iCloud and Find My iPhone preferences. They all seem to be working accordingly, yet Apple Maps still doesn't detect my iPhone for some reason :/

iCloud needs to be set up on your computer, using the same Apple ID as your iPhone.  Have you checked that?

Yes. I've checked my iCloud settings under my system preferences on my Mac as well. I've also restarted my computer and what not. Hence why I posted my question; I can't seem to find the solution.

I found this worked for me as I was having the same problem.

    Resolution

    1. Make sure that your iOS devices are using iOS 7.

OS X Maps can send to an iOS device only if the device is using iOS 7.

    2. Make sure that your Mac is connected to the Internet and signed in to the same iCloud account as your iOS devices.

The Share menu lists only the iOS devices that are signed in to the same iCloud account as your Mac.

    • On your Mac, choose Apple menu () > System Preferences. Click iCloud, then click Account Details to see which Apple ID you're using.
    • On your iOS devices, go to Settings > iCloud > Account and make sure that you're signed in to the same iCloud account as your Mac.

If you still don't see your devices in Maps, continue to the next step.3. Quit OS X Maps and try again.

    1. Quit the Maps app, then open it again.
    2. Click the Share button. If you still don't see your devices, continue to the next step.

    4. Sign in to FaceTime or Messages on your Mac.

    1. Sign in to either FaceTime or Messages. In Messages, you should be signed in to your iMessage account, not another type of account. If you're already signed in, continue to the next step.
    2. Restart your computer. After the computer restarts, you should be asked to enter your iCloud password and click Log In.
    3. If you still don't see your devices in Maps, quit Maps, then open it again and check for your devices once more.

Uggg.. I am so annoyed with this...

My maps has never shown my phone.. my iPad shows up (worthless as I don't take my iPad in the car for directions) but my phone never has.

I have done all of the above... I am MOST definitely signed into the same iCloud account... I have obviously rebooted my computer many many times since Mavericks came out.  I HAVE deleted iCloud account on phone and then re-signed in.. multiple times...  then I just give up.  And then a month later I think.. wow that would be a nice feature I'd really like to use.. then I try it all again.. like today.

I have find my iPhone on, and I have toggled it on and off.

I'm out of ideas... I AM signed into iMessage as I use it all day every day, and YES it is the same iCloud account... iMessage syncs flawlessly on my phone and computer.

anyways.. if anyone has any more bright ideas I'd love to hear em... so strange.
