Sep 19, 2014 3:48 PM in response to nbarksonby Dan Berliner,★HelpfulI have a very similar issue. The switch on my iPhone 6 is hard to get into silent mode. I can get it there, but it seems like it's just barely holding on and will flick back to ring mode very easily.

Sep 19, 2014 4:01 PM in response to nbarksonby dwwebber,★HelpfulI have the same issue. When i flip it to volume, it flips right back, and I can't turn it off silent. The button is crooked and the screen feels loose as well.

Your phone is defective. It's under warranty. Get it exchanged.

Sep 19, 2014 4:55 PM in response to gdgmacguyby Dan Berliner,Well to answer your question, I care because I am interested in seeing if this is a widespread issue. What function does your negative comment serve?

Sep 19, 2014 7:27 PM in response to nbarksonby Mr. Fletch,Same issue. Verizon support contacted Apple support for me and Apple support made an appointment for me at Apple Store for repair. They said they can repair. We'll see. Second Iphone 6 that arrived was working fine.

Sep 20, 2014 8:29 PM in response to nbarksonby gregorymichael,★HelpfulI am experiencing the same problem with my new iPhone 6 (16 GB, White-Champagne / Sprint).
The switch doesn't work as it should. (Silent or Ring Modes)
When switched the button doesn't change any setting.
Meanwhile at rare moments (has happened 2 times now) the phone quickly alternates between silent & ring modes (like back & forth 5 cycles within seconds) without any activation of switch or any function.
On hold as we speak with Apple tech agent though (1800MYAPPLE), the agent is escalating the problem to her senior tech supervisor we (the agent and I) are waiting for him/her. Will update with outcome shortly.

Sep 20, 2014 9:35 PM in response to gregorymichaelby dk0654,RETURN THE PHONE. No need to post about it because theres no fix. Don't mean to sound rude but in the time you took to post about it most likely you could've already had it replaced.

Sep 24, 2014 8:40 AM in response to nbarksonby tolkan_girl,I am having the same problem with my iPhone 6 Plus. I switch it over to silent and get a firm click, but then it bounces in and out of silent mode.
Also there is value posting here and not just running to the store and getting it replaced. Apple should know it's not just a one-off issue.

Sep 24, 2014 10:46 AM in response to tolkan_girlby Mr. Fletch,Apple's way of fixing is replacing. Make appointment with Apple Store Genius Bar and they will replace. Although to be truthful, it takes slightly longer than posting a reply. An FYI to the above

Sep 24, 2014 12:03 PM in response to Mr. Fletchby tolkan_girl,The question was not "What should I do about...", but rather "Anyone else having this issue?".

Sep 24, 2014 12:17 PM in response to tolkan_girlby Mr. Fletch,If you read the thread, I did have the same issue. I was only stating how issue was corrected by Apple, but I guess you already knew this information.

Sep 25, 2014 8:27 AM in response to tolkan_girlby Vout Oreenie,My six is doing the same thing. It will "automatically" switch between the ringer on and silent mode in rapid succession until I physically position it in the silent mode. I also haven't had a phone call "ring" for the last few days, alway going to missed calls. This occurred when the switch was in the on position and the ringer volume on full. I agree that it's good to post these issues. Obviously I have to go to the Apple Store and I'm lucky I have one in town. But I can at least go in with the knowledge that the "geniuses" may have already dealt with this or at least heard of the problem.

Sep 26, 2014 8:28 AM in response to Vout Oreenieby dallin2501,i recently bought my Iphone 6 at T-mobile and my Silent/ring button doesn't stay in place either. It is always on ring, and when I push the button to silent it immediately pops back. Also the button is very loose. I called T-Mobile and will be exchanging the phone for a new one.
