Q: wifi issues with iphone 6

Hi All,

Is anyone facing the issues with the wifi on iphone 6? I was connected to wi-fi but after I restarted the router by powering off/on, I wasn't able to connect to the wifi until I restarted my phone. Also even after toggling the wifi on/off on my phone I couldn't see any wifi signals where as I am supposed to see atleast 10 signals. Can someone please tell the steps to resolve this issue? Is this an hardware or an software issue on the phone?

iPhone 6, iOS 8

Same issue here. No neighbors show up when there are 10-12 within range of me. My signal bounces all over the place when viewed from my router. Fantail is more of a dot than anything. Several hours spent with online Apple Support and nothing was resolved.

I have this same issue.  I'm connecting via 5ghz 802.11AC.  It connect fine at first, but after a while it will lose connection.  Turning wifi on/off does not help.  only thing that helps is a power on/off cycle or using the "Reset Network Settings" option under Reset in Settings.

Looks like this may be an IOS 8 issue, look here:

5ghz driver issue under IOS 8 maybe?  I've switched my wireless router to 2.4ghz mode for now and will see if that's more stable...

Just picked up my iPhone 6 yesterday and am having the same issue.  Wifi will scan but not find any networks.  Power cycling seems to help but eventually it loses connection and am back where scanning is not picking up anything.  I really hope this is software related, but I feel like it may be hardware...seems like a pretty obvious bug that would have got caught at quality control.

And I have both 5ghz and 2.4 ghz enabled from my router and it can't find either of them.

Very frustrating!  I don't like buying a brand new phone and having things not work on it.

Update: In case it helps others, as stated in another thread, toggling airplane mode off and then on got my phone to see and connect to wireless again.  Seems like an ok temporary solution, for now.

+1 seeing the same thing here. 2.4GHz 802.11n

I have to restart the phone to regain wifi. Toggling the wifi does not work. once in this condition, no networks can be seen.

I too am having problems with wifi.  Last night I was able to get my router working on the iphone 6 but the connection was terrible.  Today I can't see any wifi connections at all including my own.  My ipod touch (running on ios8) and ipad (ios7) are both connecting to wifi with no issues at all.  So I'm left thinking I either have a dud or this is the return of the "you're holding the phone the wrong way" gate.

I am having similar issue. WiFi works great for awhile in iPhone 6, then stops. It shows it is connected, but data connections timeout. iPad Air upgraded to iOS 8 right next to it works just fine. Forgetting the WiFi network and reconnecting seems to work for awhile. Very frustrating.

WiFi issues here as well...  Standing right beside the AP and only have 1 wifi bar.

We have 2 iPhone 6's in the house - side-by-side - one has full bars throughout the house, the other will only stay connected in the room with the AP.

I think there is a bad batch of phones that didn't get the antennae plugged in correctly??

What's the likelihood of ATT/Apple stores having enough stock for replacements?

Same thing happening to me. I have the latest AC airport extreme and the phone can't stay connected for more than 15 minutes. The really strange thing is I'll show full antenna strength but it won't have any connectivity. My 5s has no issues - and it has been upgraded to ios 8. So I think it is a hardware thing.

I took mine down to the Apple store and of course, it was working just fine on their wifi.  I'm thinking that it's gotta be something with the antenna because at home I'm able to see the router if I'm standing next to it.  Move 50 feet away and it drops out.  My ipod touch, rock solid.  So I don't think it's an OS issue.

Had to restate phone and then it worked. It's just done exactly the same again now so that's twice now.  I have no issues with my iPhone 5s iPad air all on iOS 8 just my iPhone 6 plus.

I am also having the same issue since receiving the iPhone 6. Had iOS 8 running fine (well at least with respect to wifi) on my iPhone 5 prior to receiving the issue iphone 6 and it did not exhibit the same behavior.
