Old iphone5 with ios7 work.

Sep 20, 2014 11:53 AM in response to Fastman314by mittelhauser,★HelpfulInteresting. For me, I wasn't getting the check mark with the wrong password so we are seeing slightly different manifestations of the same issue.
However, I do have good news. I was able to figure out something which fixed the issue for me (although I really don't understand why). Since I wasn't seeing any sign of the phone connecting on the exchange side, I decided that it must be caching some weird state that had it confused. I went to settings->general->reset network connections and did it. When the phone rebooted and came up it magically connected to my exchange server (via LTE rather than the wifi connection) and everything started to work...
Note that I had tried turning off wifi before (based on some other threads) and that alone didn't fix it. I had to actually reset all my networks.
Nendless to say, I don't understand *** their code is doing but at least I was able to work around it.
Now that the original setup worked, I seem to be fine.
P.S. Anyone else trying to use this forum text editor on an ios8 device and having it act extremely weird with the autocorrect? Also annoying

Sep 21, 2014 5:04 AM in response to Fastman314by FTC,I am having the same issue. Iphone 6 with exchange tried resetting, rebooting, wifi on/off, nothing seems to work. Very very frustrating. Have not spoken to apple yet. Has anyone figured out the bug?

Sep 21, 2014 5:24 AM in response to mittelhauserby macscamper,Reset network connections fixed my problem. I waited until the exchange server synced, before I reconnected to wifi (sync occurred on LTE).

Sep 21, 2014 9:07 PM in response to mittelhauserby OtterPuff,I just followed the instructions to reset the networks and Exchange loaded while on LTE. Once that happened I got on WiFi again and now everything is fine. I guess it's just a glitch in the system.

Sep 22, 2014 7:46 AM in response to Fastman314by Firstwatch13,★HelpfulI had the same issue where my iPhone 6 connected fine to Exchange but my coworker's didn't. So I tried deleting the account resetting it up and other troubleshooting steps and none of it worked. So I searched around online and found this solution:
The issue was due to that user activating more than 10 devices on his Exchange ActiveSync account. So all I had to do to get his email working again, was log into Exchange OWA and go to Options > See All Options > Phone. Once there, you will see a list of devices that have been setup with that email account. The problem is, you can't have more than 10 different devices setup with Exchange, and every time you get a new phone or tablet it takes one of those activations. So to fix this problem, just delete some of the old devices from off the list to free up more slots for new devices. (Exchange usually does send you an email stating that you have run out of activations.)
I hope this fixes your problem!

Sep 22, 2014 10:15 AM in response to Fastman314by jjenni,I have the same issue as well.
I wish apple would at least acknowledge this.
I updated my 5s on the day ios8 released to test everything before telling anyone else it was good.
my phone was doing exchange 2010 active sync until Saturday morning it stopped syncing my mail.
I stopped by the apple store on Sunday morning and nothing is fixing this.
I removed and added back my account from owa, I tried the Wi-Fi on and off tricks, I tried downgrading and it still did not work, many restores and still my 5s with ios 8 as well as a handful of other people who updated are stuck where the out of office says loading.
I got 2 new iphone 6's last week and I get the same result on them as well.
what is funny I have an ipad retina hd and I updated that with ios 8 last week and it is still working on exchange server with no problem.
anyone looking here should look in setting exchange account for the automatic reply and say if they are stuck at Loading since all mine are.

Sep 22, 2014 5:49 PM in response to Fastman314by manpam,I'm also having this problem, but only for my Exchange accounts which are set up for 2-factor authentication and require an application-specific password to be used. They are google apps mail accounts I'm trying to connect to.
- I know that the application-specific password is being verified against the Exchange server correctly, because I get an error prompting me to enter it again if I enter it wrong.
- My 2 other google apps email accounts which do not have 2-step authentication enabled are synching fine
- I tried the network settings reset mentioned above, but that made no difference. The problem persists even when I'm not on wifi and am using cellular data
- It doesn't seem to be an iOS 8 problem, because the accounts are synching fine on my iPad2 which has iOS 8 installed.
- I can neither get or send mail on the affected accounts.
- I disabled 2-step authentication on the accounts and put in the regular password, but they still will not sync.

Sep 22, 2014 7:56 PM in response to Fastman314by manpam,I figured it out, at least for my situation with mail through Google Apps.
Apparently Google Apps no longer provides new devices with Exchange support for free accounts. I went back and set up the account using the default "Google" option when adding a mail account instead of the "Exchange" option, and everything works.
