There are a few things to try and the article below can walk you through them before trying to hunt down a Snow Leopard install disk. I will say that it may come down to reinstall Snow Leopard but also before any troubleshooting, make sure to have a safe copy of your data.

Sep 20, 2014 7:08 AM in response to norm123by jayparks41,Appreciated but looking like the Install disc is my only hope,cant boot in safe mode/cant get to disc utility,just a chime an then frozen screen displaying error message! Key commands seem to be ignored/not registering!Have to wait to see if re-install will fix me up/cheers for your post,wish me luck;-(

Contact AppleCare and request replacement discs for your machine. Normally available for a nominal S&H charge.
