Q: wi-fi access sporadic

Hi All -

Have iPhone 5 - still using iOS 7.1.2.  Recently started having issues with it on my home wi-fi network.  Basically many web requests seem to hang and never finish - so too do requests that apps are sending that never return results.  But some requests come back with results quickly.  Doesn't seem to be any pattern to it.  Range to router doesn't matter - Wi-Fi signal strength indicator is at max or one level below max  and even standing right next to router does not help.  If I turn of Wi-fi and switch to LTE, requests are working fine all the time.  My PC and my two Macbooks on the same router are working fine, as is my iPad, hitting the same web sites at almost the exact same time, so I don't think its a router issue.  I've also tried powering off the phone and turning it back on, but no luck.

Any ideas what the issue might be or what else I can try?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
