Q: Family Sharing

My kids are older and I want them to pay for their purchases like they are today. However, I want to add them to the family sharing for calendar, photo and location purposes. How can I do that?

iPhone 6, iOS 8

Maybe I'm missing something in these articles but I don't see where it says you can keep them paying under their existing account? I don't pay for kids music / app purchases. They're required to pay for it themselves. If I decline it, will it go back to their account to purchase?
