Sep 21, 2014 7:21 PM in response to adriennefromwashingtonby rachel296,Same problems - IOS 8 has basically bricked my IPad 2. Unfortunately I use this device as my phone - my only phone - so no connectivity and poor performance is a deal breaker. Apple please let there be a way to downgrade to IOS 7 or fix these problems.

Sep 22, 2014 4:04 AM in response to adriennefromwashingtonby psquared1976,I'm having the same issue. The cellular connection and configuration will disappear and the only way to bring it back is to do a hard reboot of the device. WiFi connections do not disappear, however.
i'm sure this is a nuisance that will get fixed, RIGHT APPLE?!?!

Sep 22, 2014 6:34 AM in response to adriennefromwashingtonby tasdevil13,HI guys,
I experience the same issue. However it is not depended on locking the device, but the iPad2 trying to connect to another cell.
When the device has no connection, I cannot change the SIM PIN. So I assume, it is somehow a locking in the low level driver of cellular hardware.
Please fix!
Roland

Sep 22, 2014 7:45 AM in response to psquared1976by regalturner,Same issue with new iPad2 and Rogers connection. Only started with OS 8 install. Cell connection keeps dropping with only reboot able to restore connection. Apple help guy suggests back up and full reset/restore, but given this appears to be somewhat of a widespread issue, I suspect this may not suffice. Apple needs to address this!

Sep 22, 2014 8:07 AM in response to teterkinby Robert_Cote_NH,The forced restart helps me too, but only for an hour or so - then my iPad 2 goes back into "No Service" mode.

Sep 22, 2014 9:23 AM in response to adriennefromwashingtonby ThePeebs,Exactly the same issue here! Upgraded to iOS8 per the recommendation on the system/compatibility chart, and immediately was dropped to "No Service" on my cellular connection. I tried a full restart, and was able to reconnect for about 5 minutes before it disappeared again.
In attempting to contact Apple support through the website, I received a response that it would cost me $20 for them to speak with me because I'm out of warranty. This seems like a huge issue that a growing number of people are experiencing. I hope that there is an official response soon. Ugh!

Sep 22, 2014 1:20 PM in response to adriennefromwashingtonby jimmy.luong,I have the same issues, you guys will need to back up the iPad. Erase all settings and restore. Painful, but will fix this bug until Apple can take care of this.

Sep 22, 2014 3:32 PM in response to adriennefromwashingtonby wombatflat,I also have this problem (New Zealand). Like others I can regain the connection with a 'reset', but lose the connection as soon as the ipad locks. Come on Apple - sort it please!
