Q: The server responded: “403” to operation CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation.

So - the 403 error message is no longer on my iMac in work this morning.... I deleted the family calendar in ICLOUD and also manually on my computers and mobile devices.  I'm not sure if apple did something with the server or if just deleting all the calendars have made the difference but the annoying pop up message has disappeared.

Family Sharing is opt-in for developers/content owners

Keep in mind that not all content will support the shared purchase feature, because it is an opt-in feature for developers of apps and owners of content. It's hard to say exactly how big of a problem this will be in practice (if at all), but hopefully developers and content owners will realise the benefit to users and support the feature.

I have been following this thread for a few days and am having a similar problem. My calendar is fine, but my wife's is not. She is getting the 403 error constantly, even though her calendar does update properly and is synched with mine. Her iPhone, iPad all work fine. I have tried deleting calendars, reinstalling, etc. with no help. I now have deleted the family calendars on my account and on hers. We do still have a shared calendar. Still getting the pop up errors.

The 403 code is a valid connection request that the server simply is not responding too. A list of HTTP status codes.

So the problem in this case is the server, and we have no possible fix what so ever.. What is our best option to do? Contact a Genius bar? Do they have te means to look into server related calendar problems?

Sorry for this, but it is early and I need a bit more information to understand exactly what you have done.

When you say "For the user" is that a generic, any one of us users, or a user on your family sharing? Sorry, but I can read it either way.

You say "you invited the user back..." Did you, the master, remove them from family sharing, delete the calendar, then add them OR did you delete the calendar and invite them to subscribe?

I am having the problem as the Master and will try this once I understand what you did.

Hey guys I finally have found a way to fix the 403 error. Turns out it was not my Calendar that caused the problem but the Reminders... Because the "Family" reminder still existed it gave problems with my Calendar because the "Family" Calendar was gone, this caused the problem. To fix it I did the following:

1. Turn of Family Sharing - You can do this on your iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch with iOS 8.0. Make sure it is turned of on all of your devices.

2. Disable the Calendar and Reminders on your mac. - You can do this at system preferences, iCloud. Make sure you erase al content if it asked you to.

3. Delete the "Calendars" folder in you Mac Library - Use Go in the Finder and press Alt to show the Library. Here you can delete the "Calendars" folder.

4. Delete the "Family" Calendar and the "Family" Reminder. - You have to do this via iCloud.com to work.

5. Reboot your mac and turn iCloud Calendar & Reminders back on. - You can do this at system preferences.

Now the "Family" Calendar and Agenda are gone en the Calendars app on your mac won't give you the 403 error again. This fixed my Calendar so let me know if it works for you.

P.S. I haven't turend Family Sharing back on yet.

For me it turned out to be Reminders. I had to disable Reminders from my Accounts in System Preferences. No amount of deleting and removing helped, 403 was still there.

Turning off Reminders however saves my Calendar headaches    

For me also - it was reminders.  I've deleted the family reminders in the Cloud and also on my various devices and the error has stopped.  It was incredibly annoying so delighted to have it fixed!

Seriously, with just 3 days left on my free phone calls from Apple I decided to use it and schedule a call. I was passed through three people before the senior advisor gave me the "I don't think we'll have a fix until Yosemite" answer. The 8.0.1 debacle must have been happening at the same time. He was really trying to get me off the phone. I could almost hear him running his fingers through his hair;)

Also wanted to let everyone know I included your solution in my reply email to the direct email I received from a senior advisor. So maybe somewhere in between 3179 complaints about bent iPhone 6+'s they'll become aware of this problem...and the solution.

It was reminders for me, but all I had to do was to uncheck Reminders in my wife's user account via System Preference, Internet accounts, her account and uncheck Reminders.

Good the know that this solved the problem for you. I also spend many hours on finding a fix, but I found it out when I deleted the Calanders folder form the library. After I did this both calendars and reminders had to be enabled again via iCloud so I knew these had to be related. I deleted the family reminder there and what do you, problem solved

Even though we deleted the family calendar ourselves I think this calendar issue is a bug that Apple has to fix. Many users want to use family sharing but don't want a shared calendar or reminder.. So Apple please make this an option that we can disable. Also make sure that if the family calendar is deleted accidentally it won't cause the 403 error..
