Q: iSight camera not working, I tried everything

Hi I have a MacBook Pro 13" 2012 and the iSight isn't recogniced

i have reinstalled lion even upgraded to the Mavericks still no luck , reinstalled lion and still no cam

i tired pram smc reset, safe mode , went though all the trouble shooting on the apple website and nothing

its not even coming up in the profile thing were it lists camera or even under usb

the green light is on so there's power to it

i alsocdont have warranty so I don't really want to take it to apple

    Then you almost certainly have a hardware problem.  If you need to get your camera working again, backup your Mac's startup disk and then contact Apple Support or an Apple Authorized Service Provider for professional service.

    Having your MBP serviced seems to be the only thing you have not tried.  If you decide not to have it fixed, I can offer three more suggestions:

     

    (1) Don't use a camera,

     

    (2) Use a different computer that has a working camera, or

     

    (3) Try an external cam like one of those shown in this list of some Apple Compatible Webcams.  I think the chances that an external camera will work are slim, but it is possible that one might work even though your inbuilt iSight does not.
